Here are your Sedalia Police crime reports and Missouri State Highway Patrol accident reports for the afternoon of October 11, 2012.

 

Sedalia police arrest a 22-year-old Sedalia man for DWI and Leaving the scene of an accident

At 10:48 Wednesday night, Sedalia police responded to an accident report in the 3100 block of West Broadway.  Upon arrival, officers found the two vehicles involved but no drivers or occupants in the vehicles. The driver of the striking vehicle was located a short time later and arrested. At the time of the police report, the suspect driver, 22-year-old Jaren Town of Sedalia, was on 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail pending state charges of driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident. The police report also states the other vehicle was unoccupied at the time of the accident.

 

Cell phone stolen from woman’s vehicle at State Fair Community College

Around 4 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, a female victim at State Fair Community College reported that her cell phone was stolen from her vehicle while it was parked in the South parking lot at the college. The victim said the vehicle was unlocked at the time of the theft. The cell phone was described as a Verizon Samsung Black Slide, valued at $130. There are no suspects at news time.

 

Minor injuries reported in a Saline County accident Wednesday night

At 10:10 Wednesday night, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a one-vehicle accident on Missouri Highway 41 just North of 260th road in Saline County. The accident occurred as the 1999 Ford Escort driven by 37-year-old David Utterback of Brunswick traveled off the roadway and struck a ditch and a sign before coming to rest. Utterback and his passenger, 33-year-old Alicia Utterback,  were both wearing seatbelts and received minor injuries. Both victims refused treatment at the scene.
