On Tuesday morning (July 11), Sedalia Police took a report in the 1000 block of West 7th Street, in regards to packages being stolen from a front porch. The victim reportedly told officers that several boxes of items had been scanned as being delivered by the Post Office, but the packages never showed up. The combined value of the packages is $289. There are no suspects at this time.


Around 1:00 Monday afternoon (July 10), Sedalia Police made contact with a 40-year old man, regarding two warrants. A no-bond probation and parole warrant was confirmed, along with a Johnson County warrant that carried a bond of $4,500. Police arrested the suspect, Steven R. Bartlett, and transported him to the Pettis County Jail. No other information was listed in that report.


On Monday (July 10), Sedalia Police conducted a warrant check in the 400 block of East 7th Street. Officers made contact with the suspect and confirmed a Cole Camp FTA warrant. Sedalia Police arrested the suspect, 35-year old Mark R. Nelson, and took him to the Pettis County Jail, with a $1,000 bond.


On Sunday (July 9), Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 700 block of E. 24th Street, in regards to found property. According to the report, officers made contact with a woman in the area in regards to the investigation. A computer check of the woman showed two warrants for her arrest - a Benton County FTA warrant and a Sedalia Municipal warrant for assault. The report says that a search of the woman, also revealed a syringe that tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine. The woman, 34-year old April Dawn Geiler, was arrested and placed on a 24-hour hold in the Pettis County Jail.


Just before 10:00 Tuesday morning (July 11), troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested a 23-year old man in Pettis County for Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance. The man is identified as Blake L. Benton, of Higginsville, MO. Benton was placed on a 24-hour hold in the Pettis County Jail.
