Sedalia Police Make Two Arrests Connected to Kidnapping Case

Sedalia Police arrested 27-year-old Joseph Rankin and 45-year-old Paula Hopkins for kidnapping on Saturday (Nov. 8).

Hopkins and Rankin were linked to the abduction that took place on Oct. 31. A victim reported to Sedalia Police that she was kidnapped from her home by threats of harm, then put into a car and taken to Kansas City, Kansas. The victim reported to Sedalia Police that she was held for two days and escaped after jumping from a moving vehicle and running to a nearby gas station.

Rankin and Hopkins face charges of kidnapping, with bond set at $500,000 each.
