Sedalia Police: Meth, Marijuana, Discovered During Traffic Stop
Sedalia Police say they found drugs during a traffic stop around 1 a.m. on February 8 near the intersection of E. Broadway Blvd. and S. Marvin Avenue. Two Sedalia residents were arrested following the incident.
According to a police report, a Chevrolet truck was stopped when an officer recognized the driver and knew that he had an active warrant. The driver, 42-year-old John Dennis Clevelan Cardwell, was arrested on a probation violation from Pettis County on original charges of burglary.
Police say a passenger in the truck, 28-year-old Bradley Mitchell Lawson, was in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana, and claim he attempted to destroy evidence by dumping out meth.
Both Cardwell and Lawson were arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail.
