Sedalia Police Reports for April 21, 2022
On Wednesday night, Officers responded to the 1600 block of South Engineer Avenue for a report of domestic assault. When Officers arrived, they made contact with the subjects and began an investigation. After completion of the investigation, the suspect was placed under arrest. Joseph E. Weller, 21, of Sedalia, was placed on a 24 hour hold for Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree.
Officers responded to the 400 block of West 11th Street Wednesday morning in reference to a possible property damage report. Someone had entered Logan Tripp's vehicle in the overnight hours and caused damage. Both the driver and the passenger side doors were scratched. Some wires were also hanging down from the steering wheel, and the motor was not running normally. The value of the damage was estimated at approximately $1000.
Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Buckner Court to make contact with a subject who wanted to make a report of theft. When Officers arrived, they spoke with Ashlyn R. Moeckli. Moeckli reported that her check was sent to her previous address. Her check was stolen from that prior address and deposited via mobile app into someone else's bank account. Officers went to the previous address and were not able to make contact with anyone. At the time of the report, none of the residents had been located.
Wednesday morning, Officers were dispatched to State Beauty Supply, 903 Royal Boulevard, for a report of burglary. When Officers arrived, they made contact with Tracy I. Johnson. Johnson stated that she arrived at work that morning to find the front door glass was broken. The cash registers had money taken from them, along with computer equipment. There are no suspects at this time.
Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of East Howard Street Wednesday morning for a report of property damage. When Officers arrived, they spoke with Israel E. Jones. Jones stated that his estranged wife came by his house and after an argument, drove her vehicle into the rear of his parked vehicle, causing damage. The estimated damage to the vehicle was $1,000. The suspect reportedly had their seven-year-old child with her in the striking vehicle. Officers took photos of the damage and attached them to the report, but were not able to make contact with the suspect. The Children's Division of Family Services was contacted.
Wednesday morning, Officers responded to the area of South Park Avenue and West Spring Street for a report of found property. A caller stated that a cash register was laying in the street. Upon arrival, Officers found the register and it was placed into evidence.
Sedalia Police spoke with Blake M. Kingsley Jr., Wednesday morning in the 3100 block of Brianna Boulevard for a report of a vehicle theft. Kingsley stated that sometime between last evening and this morning, his 2014 Jeep Patriot was stolen.
