Sedalia Police reports 7-17-19
Two people were arrested at Motel 6, 3402 W. Broadway, on Saturday around 4:30 a.m. after Sedalia Police conducted a warrant check there. Jacob Levi King was wanted on a Pettis County warrant, while 25-year-old Jade A. Buckner was wanted on two warrants – one for domestic assault and one for possession of a controlled substance.
Elizabeth C. Ortega was arrested after Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop for a brake light out at Main and Moniteau Monday around 6:40 p.m. She was an occupant in the vehicle and was wanted on a Jeff City warrant for DWI causing serious harm. Ortega was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a $10,000 cash or surety bond.
Sedalia Police noticed a vehicle with an open door behind a fenced-in area at 3:05 a.m. at 217 E. 16th Monday. The owner was called and it was determined that a company vehicle was missing. The suspect drove through a gate to leave the area, causing extensive damage.
Sedalia Police responded to a verbal disturbance at 1705 W. Broadway at 11:30 p.m. Monday. One of the parties, 32-year-old Joshua Jewell Miley, was found to be wanted on a Jeff City probation and parole warrant. After being checked out at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Miley was taken to the Pettis County Jail with no bond.
On Tuesday, The Hair Clinic, 1712 W. 9th, reported the theft of $130 overnight at the business.
A Sedalia resident found a Belknap 12-gauge pump-action shotgun placed in some overgrown bushes on the northeast corner of his property in the 500 block of W. 6th on Tuesday. The weapon was turned over to authorities.
Sedalia Police took a property damage report on Monday in the 1100 block of E. 3rd involving a 2009 Toyota Yaris with a rear windshield busted by a BB gun.
On Friday night around 9:30 p.m., Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop at Pizza Hut, 1425 S. Limit. An occupant of the vehicle, 24-year-old Sarah Dayle Wood, was found to be wanted on a Municipal warrant. She was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a $100 bond. She now has an Aug. 7 court date.
Sedalia Police took a report of a stolen firearm in the 700 block of W. 4th on Monday. There were signs of forced entry.
On Monday, Menard's, 4400 Wisconsin, reported that two suspects walked out of the store with several items without paying. The items were valued at $130. Security store footage of the suspects was provided to police.
On July 13 at midnight at 10th and Barrett, D. J. Erwin of Sedalia was arrested fpr operating a motor vehicle without a valid license. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released.
Sedalia Police took a hit-and-run report on Sunday from a man who said his 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse was struck while parked on South Carr near 18th . There was damage to the left front quarter panel.
Sedalia Police took a hit-and-run report involving a parked vehicle at 16th and Prospect on Tuesday. No criminal charges were filed, but the driver was later identified located.
Sedalia Police took a hit-and-run report from a woman who said her vehicle was struck while at 1611 S. Limit on Sunday. There were no injuries. The other driver was identified, but yet located at the time of the report.
On Sunday at 4:57 a.m. at Main and Grand, Sedalia Police arrested 39-year-old Gary Dale Spradley on a Pettis County warrant. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a $250 cash bond.
On July 13 at 11:15 p.m., Sedalia Police arrested 37-year-old Earnest Lee Brown, Jr., for driving while suspended at 10th and Ohio. He failed to comply with an order to install an ignition interlock device in his car. Brown was taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released.
On July 9, 17-year-old Jeremiah Pierre Hackney was arrested at 3101 W. Broadway for possession of marijuana after a traffic stop at 11:45 p.m. He was released with a summons.
On Tuesday, a woman reported a burglary at her home in the 1000 block of E. 7th. Taken were cash and jewelry.
On Monday morning just before 9 a.m., someone found a folded-up dollar bill containing a white crystal substance just outside the hospital at 601 E. 14th. The bill was placed into evidence for destruction.
Pettis County deputies investigated a disturbance with weapons in the 100 block of North Walnut in Houstonia on Tuesday. An investigation is ongoing.
