Sunday morning, Officers stopped a car because it had defective equipment. The stop took place in the 1300 block of South Sneed Avenue. The driver exhibited several indicators consistent with drug impairment. Jordan Thomas Watt Sr., 33, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs). Watt was booked and released at the Pettis County Jail.


 

Sunday night, Officers responded to the 2800 block of Westlake Drive for an assist agency call. A suspect was actively resisting arrest with Deputies from the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office.


 

On the night of June 18th, Sedalia Police investigated a report of an abandoned vehicle in the area of East 15th Street and South New York Avenue. The registered owner could not be contacted; therefore, the vehicle was towed for safekeeping.


 

Saturday night, Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop near the area of South Grand Avenue and West 4th Street because of improper lane usage. During the contact, the operator was found to have a suspended driver’s license and an active arrest warrant out of Lafayette County Missouri for FTA on a charge of No Seat Belt. Richard Gene Sweatt, 24, of Sedalia, was arrested for his FTA warrant and a released on a citation for Driving While Suspended*.


 

Sunday morning, Sedalia Police investigated a report of a possibly impaired driver near West 3rd Street and South Limit Avenue. The operator of the vehicle was determined to be operating the motor vehicle while intoxicated. Miguel Angel Torres, 20, of Neosho, was arrested on a charge of Driving While Intoxicated and a charge of Driving While Suspended*. Torres was transported to the Pettis County Jail.


 

Saturday night, Officers responded to a disturbance in the area of East Broadway Boulevard and Crescent Drive. Before Officers arrived, they were told by the caller the suspect had left the scene in a silver Cadillac, and he was intoxicated. While checking the area, Officers observed the suspect driving. The suspect fled on foot and was captured shortly after. Officers noted the suspect was sweating, and his eyes were watery, glassy, and bloodshot. The suspect also had a strong odor of intoxicants on his breath, but he denied any alcohol consumption. The suspect was placed under arrest and placed in the Officers’ vehicle. The charges were explained to the suspect, who stated they “didn’t catch him driving” but then said he “parked” the car. On the way to the Police Station, the suspect asked why he was being arrested. When informed of the possibility of a DWI and DWR charge, he said he only drove a block. A few blocks away, the suspect began yelling and bashed his head several times on the patrol car partition. The suspect said if he was taken to the municipal courthouse, they would have a problem. He stated this as they were entering the parking lot of the Police Department. As the Officer pulled in to park, the suspect stated “better get ready to fight a mother****er.”. The suspect was told the Officer would like his cooperation. The suspect then shouted, “Open the g*d damn door so I can kick the f**k out of you. Open the door, p***y.” When Officers did open the door, the suspect jumped out of the patrol car, and attempted to step away from the Officer. The suspect pulled out of the Officers grasp, and then struck his chest to the Officer’s chest. As he suspect was restrained and taken to the processing room, he stated “Let me f***ing go. Let me the f*** go. I’m sitting down you stupid f***ing r**ard.” He then jumped up in an aggressive manner, and was ordered to sit down. He then responded “F*** you, I can stand if I want to.” Using his right arm, he struck the Officer’s chest and attempted to pull away again. During the struggle, an Officer was kneed in the face, on his lip, causing pain. There were several occurrences where the suspect had slammed another Officer’s left hand into the brick wall behind him. Index fingers and knuckles were injured in the second Officer. The suspect admitted he found the situation funny, and seemed to be laughing uncontrollably. The Officers explained the search warrant process, and the suspect claimed he would allow them to collect a sample, but then refused. The suspect also did not allow an inspection of his mouth, concealing the majority of his mouth with his tongue. Blake R. Clapham, 36, Homeless, was arrested on two charges of felony Assault in the 3rd Degree (Special Victim), felony Driving While Revoked, felony Resisting Arrest, Assault in the 4th Degree (Pursuant to Subdivision 1 and 5), and Driving While Intoxicated**. Bond was set at $7500 cash or surety.

Sunday afternoon, Officers were investigating a domestic disturbance in the 1200 block of South Carr. It was discovered the male on scene had a warrant for his arrest. The suspect had been issued a citation in February of 2024 and failed to appear in court in May on charges of Trash Violation***. Anthony D. Quick, 37, of Sedalia, was arrested for his Failure to Appear warrant and transported to the Pettis County Jail, pending a cash only bond of $60.00.


 

Sunday morning, Officers were dispatched to a burglary report. Rebecca Sue Pardee stated someone had broken in to the 1400 block of East 9th Street.


 

Saturday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the 2500 block of Kay Avenue for a report of a stolen pallet of concrete bricks. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with Paul A. Olejniczak, and then gathered information. A video was obtained from neighbors, and a report was completed.


 

Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of South Beacon Avenue for a report of found property Saturday afternoon. Officers arrived on scene, and spoke with Douglas S. Mullins. The bicycle was brought to the Police Department to be held as found property.


 

Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a white 2002 Toyota Avalon in the parking lot of the Autozone store, 2601 West Broadway Boulevard. The driver of the vehicle had a revoked driving status. Josephine Cordelia Marek, 21, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of felony Driving While Revoked.


 

Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of West 4th Street for a report of a physical disturbance Sunday morning. Officers arrived on scene, gathered information from the parties involved, and completed a 12-hour log.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 300 block of West 7th Street Saturday morning in reference to a report of a burglary.


 

Saturday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to an individual being bitten by a bat.


 

Friday morning, Officers were dispatched to the Firestone Tire, 3128 West Broadway boulevard for a verbal disturbance. Officers arrived on scene, gathered information, and a report was completed.


 

Officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of South Stewart Friday evening regarding a suspicious circumstance. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with Salena Phillips, and a report was generated for documentation purposes.


 

Friday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the Centennial Park, 1500 East 16th Street, in regards to found property. Officers spoke with the reporting party, and gathered the found property.


 

Sedalia Police conducted a vehicle stop near the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South Quincy Avenue Friday afternoon. Keri M. Thomas, 51, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving while Revoked. There was no further information in the report.


 

On the afternoon of June 19th, Ondrea Koch game to the Police Station lobby to turn in a flip phone she located. The phone was found in the area of East 3rd Street and South Engineer Avenue. The phone was placed into evidence.
