Tuesday evening, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with expired registration plates on South Montgomery Avenue near East 6th Street. A computer check showed the driver to have an outstanding Failure to Appear warrant from Johnson County. The incident had been filed by citation in October of 2023, with the warrant issued in January of 2024. Zander Lucas Jones, 19, of Sedalia, was arrested for his FTA warrant on original charges of No Seat Belt. Bond was set at $50 cash or surety.


 

Early Wednesday morning, Officers were contacted about a situation in the area of West Main Street and South Quincy Avenue. A female had jumped out of a moving vehicle belonging to a relative. The suspect was highly intoxicated, and unable to care for her herself. Officers took the suspect into custody, and she was transported to the Bothwell Regional Health Center for a Fit for Confinement check. She was cleared, and then transported to the Pettis County jail. Piper Marie Roberts, 19, of Russellville, was placed on a 12-hour protective custody hold.

Sedalia Police responded to the 1000 block of West 4th Street in reference to a domestic disturbance. Officers arrived and made contact with both parties. It was determined that a physical altercation had occurred. The primary physical aggressor could not be determined. The male suspect left the residence. The female remained at the residence. A 12-hour log was completed for documentation.


 

Monday evening, Officers responded to the Staples store, 3610 West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a theft. Keegan A. Lorenz stated a Hispanic male subject came into the store and made a purchase. During the purchase, the male subject stole money from the purchase. The male subject has not been identified at this time.


 

Tuesday evening, Officers took a report in the Police Station lobby in reference to found property from James William Blacklock. Blacklock stated he found an Apple iPad with a case in a room where he works. The iPad was entered into evidence as found property.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the 400 block of North Grand Avenue for a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers determined that one subject had threatened other subjects at the residence with a weapon. The subject was arrested at the scene. Josephine Cordelia Marek, 21, of Sedalia, was arrested on charges of felony Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and felony Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree. Marek was placed on a 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail.


 

Officers observed a white SUV drifting from side to side as it travelled westbound on West 32nd Street. Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near Wing Avenue and Plaza Avenue. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. The suspect was arrested, and transported to the BRHC for a blood draw, and then to the Pettis County Jail. Christol Parish, 45, of Joplin, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs).


 

Tuesday morning, an Officer was dispatched to a theft report at the Hampton Inn, 3909 West 9th Street. The suspect stayed at the hotel for an extended amount of time, and only paid part of the bill. Charges of felony stealing were submitted to the state prosecutor.
