Sedalia Police Reports For May 22, 2024

Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of West Main Street and South Park Avenue because the vehicle had a defective headlight early Wednesday morning. The driver denied consent to search the vehicle. K9 Rocky was deployed, and alerted to narcotics inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted. Evan C. Bankovich, 29, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Bankovich was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24-hour hold.

Tuesday night, Officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of South Sneed Avenue to investigate a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with both parties involved and gathered information. After the investigation, it was determined a physical altercation took place between the parties. A primary physical aggressor could not be determined. A 12-hour log was documented for the incident.

Sedalia Police responded to the 200 block of East Walnut Street for a potential t heft report. Officers determined the issue to be a civil matter. A general information report was completed.

Tuesday afternoon, Officers responded to the 2200 block of South Ingram Avenue for a report of domestic assault. Contact was made with male and female subjects, who both reported they were only arguing and nothing got physical. There were no injuries, so a primary physical aggressor could not be determined. A 12-hour log report was completed.

Monday afternoon, Asly L. Aguirre came to the Police Department to report that money had been stolen from her car sometime overnight. The vehicle was parked in the 1200 block of East 18th Street. A report was made.

Sedalia Police responded to the 1900 block of South Lamine Avenue to investigate a civil matter. Contact was made with two male subjects. Both reported an incident had escalated into a physical fight between them. A 12-hour log was completed.
