Early Friday morning, Sedalia Police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation near the area of East 12th Street and South Marvin Avenue. During the course of the stop, the operator was found to have items associated with illegal drug activity on their person. During a probable cause search of the vehicle, firearms were located. It was determined the suspect was prohibited by law from having them. Douglas Ward Hampton Jr., 45, of Sedalia, was arrested without incident. Hampton was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 24 hour hold pending formal charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, felony Possession of Marijuana, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Unlawful Possession of a Concealable Weapon.


 

On the evening of November 2nd, Officers responded to the area of West 16th Street and South Grand Avenue in reference to a hit and run accident. Jamie C. Miller stated a tire came off a trailer and struck the side of her vehicle. The driver pulling the trailer left the scene. No suspects have been identified at this time.


 

Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for disobeying a stop sign in the area of West Broadway Boulevard and South Harrison Avenue Thursday night. After a computer check, it was determined the driver had a revoked license. Marri S. Buckner, 25, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Suspended. Buckner was transported back to the Police Department to be fingerprinted, and then was booked and released.

Officers were dispatched to the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard Thursday afternoon. Threats had been made towards the store. Upon arrival, Officers gathered the necessary information to generate a report for an investigation.


 

Thursday morning, Officers were dispatched to the Automasters, 2200 West Main Street, for a property damage report. On arrival, Officers made contact with Amanda McAteer, who stated someone tried to steal her vehicle by dragging it off of the property. McAteer estimated the cost of the damage to the vehicle was approximately $900. At the time of the report, a suspect has not yet been located.


 

On the morning of November 2nd, Sedalia Police took a fraud report in the 700 block of West 7th Street. Lloyd Dunn reported that he purchased a vehicle on the internet, and never received it.


 

Wednesday morning, Officers were dispatched to the Bothwell Family Health, 3700 West 10th Street for a report of a possible disturbance. On arrival, Officers made contact with one subject in the field south of the address. The subject told Officers a disturbance had not taken place. A computer check through Dispatch revealed her to have an active Probation Violation warrant on original charges of felony Endangering a Welfare of a Child in the 1st Degree (Involving Drugs). Lydia Tenisee Antwiler, 27, Homeless, was arrested and transported to the Bothwell Hospital for a fit for confinement check. When the check was completed, Antwiler was transported to the Pettis County Jail. Bond on the Probation Violation warrant was set at $2,000 cash and $2,500 surety.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Thompson Road for a report of a subject with a warrant for their arrest Thursday afternoon. Upon arrival, Officers confirmed the subject had a no bond warrant from Pettis County. James Thomas Killham III, 58, of Sedalia, was arrested for his felony Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Assault in the 3rd Degree. Killham was transported to the Pettis County Jail.


 

Officers responded to the O'Reilly Auto Parts store, 2413 West Broadway Boulevard Wednesday night in reference to property damage. Officers spoke with the reporting party, who stated someone had broken out the back window of his vehicle while he was at work. No suspects have been identified at this time.
