Sedalia Police Reports For September 3, 2020

Early Thursday morning, Sedalia Police observed a male subject riding a bicycle eastbound in the westbound lanes of West Broadway at South State Fair Boulevard. Officers stopped the subject and ran his information through dispatch who informed them the subject had an active warrant from the Sedalia Police for Failure to Appear on an original charge of Failing to Stop at a Stop Sign. Carl Eugene Johnson, 60, Homeless, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and given a court date along with a $50 cash only bond.
Officers responded to the Pettis County Jail to serve an inmate with two active warrants from the Sedalia Police. The warrants were both for Failure to Appear, one on an original charge of Failure to Stop at a Red Light, the other for Driving While Intoxicated. Gary A. McKinsey, Jr, 20, of Sedalia was served with the warrants and issued a court date, total bond was $300 cash only.
Sedalia Police conducted a subject check in the 3300 block of West Broadway Thursday morning. The subject fled on foot, and was apprehended after a foot pursuit. Calvin Lee Duncan, 36, of Sedalia, was found to have an active warrant for Driving While Revoked, and was in possession of burglary tools as well as drug paraphernalia. Duncan was arrested for the warrants, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Burglary Tools, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Wednesday evening, Officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of South Limit in reference to a shooting. When Officers arrived, all parties involved had already left. Officers spoke with a witness that saw two males get into an argument with three other males. One of the males drew a weapon and fired five rounds at the back of the vehicle the three males were in as they drove away. The other two males got into their vehicle and followed them. There have been no arrests made at this time.
Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 900 block of West 11th for a report of a missing juvenile Wednesday morning. Upon arrival, Officers met with Fayrene Bonner, who stated her juvenile son set off walking to the Junior High around 7:10 that morning. Bonner said she received a call around 9:00 a.m. stating that her son never arrived at school. There is no foul play suspected at this time.
Wednesday morning, Officer responded to the Casey's store in the 3000 block of South Limit Avenue in regards to a theft that took place over the weekend. The suspect is known, and charges are being submitted to the prosecutor.
Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of East 12th Wednesday afternoon in reference to a meth pipe found on the ground. The pipe was collected and entered into evidence for destruction.
Sedalia Police responded to the 500 block of East 12th in regards to a disturbance Wednesday afternoon. The disturbance had not been physical, and one subject was found to have several warrants for their arrest. Christopher Edward Demus, 30, Homeless, was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail. The warrants for his arrest were Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree, Failure to Appear on an original charge of Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree, Trespassing in the 2nd Degree, and Property Damage in the 2nd Degree. Demus' court date is to be determined; bond was set at $10,500.00.
