
Sedalia Pettis County EMA & Red Cross to Offer Shelter Training
On Wednesday, April 15 starting at 9 a.m., the Sedalia-Pettis County Emergency Management Agency and The American Red Cross will present a free training seminar on shelter fundamentals at First United Methodist Church Celebration Center, 1701 West 32nd Street, in Sedalia.
Join the American Red Cross Shelter Fundamentals & Simulation Training and learn how to support individuals and families when they need it most during an emergency.
The training will last from 9 a.m., to 2 p.m.
Here’s what you’ll learn:
*Red Cross sheltering philosophy & principles
*How to identify and support client needs
*Types of shelters and how they operate
*Roles and responsibilities of shelter workers
*Real-world shelter scenarios through hands-on simulation
After completing the training, you’ll be added to a roster of trained volunteers who may be called upon to support shelter operations during emergencies right here in our area.
Lunch will be provided.
