It's tradition! Each year the City of Warrensburg holds a photo contest asking residents to submit photos of buildings, artwork, or landmarks that are unique to Warrensburg or the Warrensburg community. This year is no exception.

The top three photos are featured on the cover of the Warrensburg annual budget. If you're a shutterbug you have until May 31, 2019 to submit your photos to the City.

Of course there are some rules and restrictions. The contest is open to residents of Warrensburg, Johnson County Missouri, and students attending The University of Central Missouri. If you're interested in submitting some photos you can check out the complete rules and entry information here.

The main reason for the contest according to the the City's website is to encourage community participation the budget process. Entering the photo contest sounds more fun than looking at the budget, but a cool cover may just get the budget into more citizens hands. Who knows, it may even get some folks to look at what's in the budget. And that's not a bad thing.
