Smith-Cotton to Offer Driver’s Ed Course this Summer
Smith-Cotton High School's regular Driver's Ed course will run from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday, June 1-26, in the Smith-Cotton Junior High School Little Theater.
These sessions are class time only and do not include the required six hours of driving time. The course is free of charge and available on a first come, first served basis.
Participating students must have a learner's permit to take part in the driving portion of the course.
An Advanced Driver's Ed Course will start after the regular class completes its scheduled driving. Students who have already graduated the beginner class and already have their driver's license are eligible to take the advanced course.
There will be no classroom portion. Each student will drive 3-4 hours depending on their need and will drive to Kansas City and Columbia metro areas to work on higher traffic driving situations. The advanced course is free as well.
