The Smith-Cotton Tigers began post-season district play Friday night at Tiger Stadium against the Hickman Kewpies. The Tigers got on the scoreboard real quick, they collected a couple of turnovers by Hickman & scored on a field goal by Blake Grupe from 37 yards out. And then a two-yard run by by Gauge Young at the end of the first quarter, S-C with a 10-0 lead.

The Tigers went into the locker room with a 31-0 lead. A then a 25-yard pass play from Jayden Kendrick to Brice Pannier, who made a terrific catch in the end zone. Later on, Gauge Young scored again, he actually put three TDs on the scoreboard for the night. The Tigers never looked back and beat the Kewpies, 45-14.

S-C moves on to play the Belton Pirates in round two of district play on the road next Friday night. Catch the game live on 92.3 BOB-FM with your host Al McCurdy. Pre-game starts at 6:40 p.m.
