Smith-Cotton FBLA students attend National Leadership Conference

Smith-Cotton High School's Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter proudly represented the school and community at the FBLA National Leadership Conference held June 29 to July 2 in San Antonio, Texas.

After earning top finishes at the state level, Smith-Cotton students qualified to compete on the national level in two competitive events. Citlalli Nava represented the chapter in Job Interview, while Gracie Pilant, Grace Boley, and Payton Johnson competed in the Community Service Project event featuring their innovative support of our local Community Cafe in Sedalia.

In addition to competing nationally, the Smith-Cotton FBLA chapter was recognized for its outstanding chapter achievements. The chapter earned recognition as a Business Achievement Awards (BAA) Chapter and received the prestigious Gold Chapter distinction, highlighting the members' dedication to leadership, service, and professional development throughout the year. Students representing the Business Achievement Award included Mia Marin and Micai Clark.

The chapter was led by adviser Lakin Janke during the 2025–2026 school year. Congratulations to these outstanding students for representing Smith-Cotton High School with professionalism, leadership, and excellence on the national level.
