A sheriff's deputy in Greene County, MO was killed on Friday (Sept 7) after his patrol car was washed off the road.

A press release from the Greene County Sheriff's Department indicates that Deputy Aaron Paul Roberts cleared a 911 call in the 9500 block of Farm Road 2.

He was reportedly returning to service and moments later radioed that his car was washed off of the road.

Authorities from the Greene County area, along with Springfield Fire/Water rescue began a search for Roberts.

A short time later, Deputy Roberts was found deceased near his patrol vehicle.
