A Springfield man has been convicted of killing another man during a drug deal that went bad.

A Greene County jury on Thursday found 21-year-old Darian Hall guilty of second-degree murder and three other felonies in the December 2012 death of Trent Brewer.

The Springfield News-Leader reports Hall testified during his trial that the shooting was self-defense but prosecutors noted Brewer was shot in the back.

Prosecutors said Hall tried to rob Brewer during a marijuana transaction and Hall shot him when Brewer tried to run.
