St. Louis County Limits Youth Sports Amid COVID-19 Outbreaks

St. Louis County will impose limits on youth sports next week amid coronavirus outbreaks among players.

County Executive Sam Page on Thursday announced teams won't be allowed to play against other teams.

Spectators will be banned, and groups will be limited to 10 people or fewer. Page says the restrictions are needed following COVID-19 outbreaks among youth athletes. The state reported 708 new confirmed COVID-19 cases Thursday, bringing the overall total to 30,422, a 36% increase from two weeks ago.

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services also said the number of deaths increased by 10 to 1,113.
