ST. LOUIS (AP) — The St. Louis medical examiner says the 18-year-old fatally shot by police last week suffered a severed spinal cord. Medical Examiner Michael Graham says he re-examined the body of Mansur Ball-Bey and determined that his spinal cord may have survived the impact of the bullet but unraveled as he ran. The bullet also pierced his heart. Police say Ball-Bey pointed a stolen gun at officers.
