State Fair Community College to Host Visiting St. Louis Cardinals Players
The Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center at State Fair Community College will be the site of the St. Louis Cardinals Caravan stop in Sedalia on January 19. "Anytime you can get the Cardinals in Sedalia, Missouri, it's a wonderful event," said Darren Pannier, athletic director at State Fair Community College. "This Caravan hasn't been here for at least four years, and luckily we were a site to pick up the Cardinals Caravan and we're excited."
The St. Louis Cardinals Caravan is a tour across Cardinals Nation that allows fans to "talk baseball and meet current players, alumni and broadcasters."
"The players will come out in the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose building," said Pannier. "They'll be on the floor. The fans will be in the stands. We'll have a concession stand open. There will be an emcee from the Cardinals and he'll talk about the history of the Cardinals, as well as the upcoming season. Then the players will talk to the audience, and there will be a time for questions. Anybody 15 and under will get a ticket at the door for autographs."
The Boys and Girls Clubs of West-Central Missouri will also be holding a raffle fundraiser during the Cardinals Caravan.
Admission to the St. Louis Cardinals Caravan is free. Visiting players include Dakota Hudson, Mike Mayers, Chasen Shreve, Andrew Knizner, Joe Magrane, Danny Cox and Harrison Bader. Cardinals Radio Network announcer John Rooney will emcee the Sedalia Cardinals Caravan.
