State Rep Brad Pollitt has announced that will seek election to the Missouri State Senate in the 28th District.

 

Pollitt, a Republican, represents parts of Johnson and Pettis counties in District 52 in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was originally elected to his first two-year term in November of 2018.

Rep. Pollitt resides in Sedalia with his wife, Danette. They have three children: Kevin, Whitney and Brianna. They attend Maplewood Church in Sedalia.

 

Pollitt is originally from Chariton, Iowa. He attended Chariton High School and studied at Truman State University.

In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. Pollitt is the owner and operator of Rocher P. Cattle Company LLC. He previously worked as an educator and administrator for 34 years. Pollitt served as a teacher and coach in North Shelby and Sedalia, a principal in Smithton, assistant superintendent in Knob Noster and superintendent in Sedalia before turning to politics.

Pollitt hopes to secure the seat that is being vacated by State Sen. Sandy Crawford, who is term limited.

"It would be an honor to represent the good citizens of the 28th Senatorial District in Jefferson City," Pollitt told KSIS. "I have a proven common sense conservative history with a track record of knowing how to get things done."

At the national level, incumbent Republican Josh Hawley was the winner of the last US Senate race on Nov. 4, beating out Democratic challenger Lucas Kunce by a margin of 55.6 % to 41.8%. There were a total of six candidates running in that race.

 

The next Missouri State Senate general election that Pollitt will be running in will be held Nov. 3, 2026.

 

The Missouri Senate is the upper chamber of the Missouri General Assembly. The Senate has 34 members, representing districts with an average population of around 181,000.

Members serve four-year terms, with half of the seats up for election every two years.

 

Currently, Republicans control the Missouri Senate with 24 members, while Democrats have 10 members.

According to Pollitt’s campaign website, “he will fight any attempts of "woke" ideology infiltrating Missouri's classrooms and will defend food & border security for our state and nation, while also upholding the right to bear arms. Brad is a staunch conservative dedicated to preserving our Constitutional freedoms and commonsense values.”
