The Pettis County Sheriff's Office says a man assaulted a deputy as he was being arrested t for domestic assault.

Deputies were dispatched to the area of Goodwill Chapel Drive and McVey around 9:15 p.m. on May 21. According to a an incident report, the suspect had left the area on foot when deputies arrived, but later returned to the scene. The sheriff's office says the suspect, identified as Gary D. Horn, resisted arrest as he was being taken into custody, but was eventually arrested.

Horn was transported to the Pettis County Jail, and charges for second degree domestic assault, felony resisting arrest, and assault on law enforcement are being sought.
