A Sweet Springs woman was moderately injured in a two-vehicle crash that occurred Saturday evening in Johnson County.

According to the MSHP, a southbound 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by 56-year-old Kelly A. Peeples of Sweet Springs, traveled into the path of a northbound 2007 Chevy Equinox driven by 61-year-old Cheryl M. Cartmill of Kingsville, and struck it at 6:52 p.m. at Highway 50 and NW 1601 Road.

Peeples was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg by private vehicle for treatment. Cartmill was reportedly uninjured.

The Santa Fe had extensive damage and was towed by private means. The Equinox was totaled and towed from the scene by Ron's Towing, Lee's Summit.
