Sedalia Police recently conducted a special operation that included saturation patrols in areas around Sedalia with high incident rates for drug activity which resulted in multiple arrests.
A Johnson County Deputy observed a maroon colored Dodge Caravan travelling east in the 1900 block of NW 50 Highway. The Deputy reportedly noticed the Caravan matched the description of the vehicle that was involved in a hit and run accident on Sept. 18 on Highway 50, where the vehicle struck a pedestrian who sustained life threatening injuries.
Around 2:00 Monday morning (Oct 1), Sedalia Police stopped a man who was reportedly walking through yards in the area of the 1300 block of S. Park Ave. Investigation revealed the man, 43-year old Damon L. Lewis, was in possession of a firearm that had been reported stolen in Sedalia on September 8.
The subject was identified as 28-year old Dustin Hart. A report from SPD indicates Hart had a probation violation warrant from Wyandotte County, KS, with no bond.
On Monday (Aug 13), Johnson County deputies were dispatched to an address on NW 125 in regards to a domestic disturbance. 25-year old Robert W. Rainey, of rural Warrensburg, was arrested for 3rd Degree Domestic Assault
