The Guest Speaker at the Sedalia Area Chamber of Commerce Breakfast today (Dec. 12) was Matt LaCasse of the Boys & Girls Club of West Central Missouri. The main topic of LaCasse’s speech was centered on the organization's fundraising efforts for 2014.
On Tuesday night (Nov 26), I was lucky enough to participate in the Child Safe Dessert Auction at the Celebration Center in Sedalia. It was a great event that raised over $5,000 for the Child Safe program of Central Missouri.
This year I promised Carolyn Green of Child Safe that I would bake something for the celebrity dessert auction this year. Child Safe is a local organization that's a lot like a fire extinguisher: you hope you never need it, but you're thankful it's there. They help our local kids who are going through some terrible times. Child Safe needs our help to keep that going.
