Donating blood is a simple, effective way to help out people in all kinds of different walks of life. You don't need to have a lot of money or time to do it, and you know it's something that will be used to save lives.
The Sedalia Community Center is having a Blood Drive coming up on April 8. Most of us will need a blood transfusion at some point in our lives. That means that you, your family and your peers will need the support of volunteer blood donors.
The American Red Cross will have a blood drive with Better County KIX 105, 92.3 BOB-FM and Newstalk 1050 KSIS at the Inter-State Studio Auditorium at 3500 Snyder Ave. on Friday, Feb. 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Donors of all types are encouraged to roll up a sleeve and help save lives. The American Red Cross are planning several blood drives coming up in our area. KIX 105, 92.3 BOB-FM and Newstalk 1050 KSIS along with the Red Cross hosted a blood drive on Friday, Dec. 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We went over to the Knights of Columbus on Friday to encourage people to give the gift of life. This past week, I sort of holed myself up at home and didn't do much for my time off. I think sometimes you've got to just sleep in and watch some TV on the couch...or at least I do. So when I came back here to the studios today, I realized there's a lot of great chances for us to keep spreading that Holiday spirit.
This past Friday (Oct. 11), I was lucky enough to get out to the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center and rock out a bit with the great folks out there for their blood drive. These people were the epitome of working through hardship, I'll tell you that for free!
