Mother's Day is a big deal.  Everybody has a mom, and everybody knows that you owe her big.  Well, at least I know that I do.

The recurrence of teen parenting is something that's become a reality all over the world, and it's happened here in Sedalia too. These young people can often feel scared, alone, intimidated and lost when faced with the reality of being a young parent. The Amigos De Cristo and VISTA are working to help these young people through the process.

Mikal Sue’s Miracle Run will be held on May 3. Mikal Sue is a seven year old girl diagnosed with a neurodegenerative disease called Sanfilippo Syndrome.

The Missouri Valley Community Action Agency is signing up kids today for their Head Start Program. Head Start is a program for kids ages three to five to give them some extra skills to help them in school. They offer special services for children with disabilities, assistance in maintaining medical and dental health and educational activities that promote individual learning for children. Read Mor

The other day, I told you guys about how the girlies were going through a bout with the common cold.  I turned to Facebook and here on our websites, and asked you guys what you do in these circumstances.  We got a lot of great suggestions!

There have been a lot of events lately to put girls and their fathers together for some quality time. Daddy and Me Date Night, the Women's Service League Cupid's Ball, you get the idea. Now there's something that will be great for these girls to get together with the ladies of the family.

It was freezing cold on Saturday, and there was a threat of bad snow that never came. But either way, there were several brave souls who made sure to show up and see the big Monster Truck Sergeant Smash at America's Car Mart on Saturday (March 1).

I know that a lot of you out there have had some babies over the years.  One, two, nine, what have you - babies are freggin' everywhere. As they say, raising kids doesn't come with a manual... The Le Leche League will have their next meeting on January 7 at 6:30 at the First United Methodist Church Celebration Center. The Le Leche League of Sedalia has an important mission for families, and particularly for Mothers. They believe that mothering through breastfeeding is the most natural and effective way of understanding and satisfying the needs of the baby, and their next meeting on Jan.
