Fireworks

Sedalia celebrated the Fourth of July in grand fashion through the day. The celebration started with a parade in Downtown Sedalia, hosted by Terry Cockrell, at 10 am. The parade lasted about a half hour and ended in time for the Good Ole Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration at Centennial Park in Sedalia...

Here’s how it works: Uncle Sam has hid prized fireworks around town. You might see one at a busy intersection, hidden somewhere in the parking lot of your favorite local business, stashed in the park or near a historic building. They could be anywhere! They look like this:

Everyone looks forward to Independence Day.  Fireworks, music, history, great food and friendship.. it's all there.

The Fourth of July is one of my favorite times of the year. I love to check out the various firework stands and of course see the big fireworks displays in the area. You have seen them popping up all over: bright tents that hold all of the goodies that your little pyro heart desires. It's that time of year again, and many of you will flock to a firework tent here in the area to purchase some fireworks. What would the 4th of July be without fireworks?

With the 4th of July quickly approaching, the Sedalia Police Department would like to remind the citizens of Sedalia that buying, selling, displaying and shooting fireworks is prohibited within the city limits.  Violating the fireworks ordinance can result in a $109 fine and potentially some time in jail.

It’s time for Sedalia to make plans for the 4th of July celebrations again this year, there are two events that will make the planning easier.

Today is our Independence Day, so Happy Fourth of July.  I know with the weather it may not by the typical Fourth of July,  but it is here none the less.  Many of you probably have the day off to spend with friends and family, some of you will have limited hours, others will be working all day...

Pettis County Fire Fighters were called to a structure fire to the wooden-decked low water crossing on South Grand Avenue, approximately 1/2 mile north of Anderson School Road Wednesday evening. A large amount of spent fireworks were observed at the location, leading to the possibility of the fire being ignited by citizen carelessness...

Last night (June 27), Pettis County Fire Fighters were called to a structure fire at a wooden-decked low water crossing on South Grand Avenue.  Firefighters say a large amount of spent firework debris and packaging were found at the bridge, leading them to believe that fireworks ignited the bridge.
