ATLANTA (AP) — Two winning tickets were sold in the $636 million Mega Millions drawing: one at a tiny newsstand in Atlanta, and the other more than 2,000 miles away in California.
The winner of the largest Powerball prize ever, $590 million, is Gloria C. Mackenzie, 84, of Zephyrhills, Florida. Lottery officials made the announcement in a news conference Wednesday afternoon.
UPDATE: A Powerball ticket sold in Dearborn matched all six Powerball numbers drawn last night to win half of the $587.5 million jackpot. At $293.7 million, this is the largest jackpot prize ever won in Missouri and the second-largest Powerball jackpot awarded nationwide. The ticket was sold at Trex Mart, 17605 Highway Z, in Dearborn.
