The campaign for a new K-9 animal for the Warrensburg Police Department got a major boost when Old Drum Realty presented a check to Police Chief Rich Lockhart for $11,600
The Sedalia Police Department received two K9 ballistic vests thanks to the nonprofit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. and a local donor, who wished to remain anonymous. The vests have been issued to K-9 Charlie and K-9 Gallo.
According to Sedalia Police Commander Larry Ward, the police department will be receiving two new dogs for the K-9 Unit. Ward said the money has come through the efforts of drug enforcement in the area and at the expense of those who traffic in illegal drugs.
