On the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, several events will be held in the area on Tuesday, September 11, 2012.  These events will honor the men and women who lost their lives in the attack and the heroes who served their country in its darkest hour.

KIX 105 is doing something new this year and bringing you the KIX 105 Football Game of the Week.  Kaleb Filis will bring you the play-by-play of a variety of games in the area.  The first game looks to be a rain filled one with Pleasant Hill at Warrensburg High School with a 7 p.m. kickoff.

UPDATE: After several boats made Test Session passes on Lake Lucas, rain forced the cancellation of today's Test and Tune on Lake Lucas. The 2nd Annual Diamond Drag Boat Nationals will resume tomorrow as scheduled, weather permitting.

The third annual Sedalia-Pettis County United Way Campaign Kickoff was held at Convention Hall in Liberty Park on Thursday, August 30 at noon.  For the last three years, United Way has had celebrity chefs cook for the crowd to show how people can come together for the betterment of the community.

Labor Day weekend is upon us, a holiday that many mark as the end of summer.  I have done many different things for Labor Day weekend in the past, from traveling to the Lake of the Ozarks, to Kansas City, Columbia and even just around town.

92.3 BOB-FM is an affiliate of the Kansas City Chiefs, and each year we get invited to Kansas Cit Chiefs Radio Affiliates Day, which usually happens in pre-season.  Normally I don't get the chance to go because I'm at the Missouri State Fair or covering high school football, but this year with Al McCurdy bringing us Smith-Cotton Football, I finally got the chance to go.

The school year may have just started,  however the Knob Noster School District will not have classes on Friday, August 24th, 2012 due to a water issue.
