Last week we reported that the Mid-Missouri Outlaws would be more than likely joining the Champions Professional Football League. Yesterday (August 22), Outlaws co-owner Ethan Henson held a press conference at the Celebration Center formally announcing that they would join the league as one of the founding teams.

In the last two weeks, U.S. Representative and Republican U.S. Senator Candidate Todd Akin has made several statements that have been scrutinized.  Recently, Todd Atkins drew controversy nationwide when he said in a television interview that it is "really rare" that victims of "legitimate rape" get pregnant.

Today is day 11 of the Missouri State Fair, and is the final day too!  Today is Fair Finale/Half Price Day where you can get in for $4 adult admission all day and $1 for kids ages 6-12.  It's also Celebrate Law Enforcement Day where it is free gate admission for Municipal/County/State Law Enforcement with appropriate I.D. and $1 gate admission for immediate family members.

Day 10 of the Missouri State Fair is here, and it's the final weekend too!  Today is Youth in Agriculture Day where you can get $1 off admission coupons at County Extension offices.

The 2012 Missouri State Fair, marks the 50th anniversary of the Missouri State Fair Volunteer Fire Department, who are the most unique firefighters in the state.  The reason for this is because the department itself only exists for two weeks out of the year during the Missouri State Fair.

Day nine of the Missouri State Fair is here, and today is Missouri Electric Cooperatives/Git-R-Done Friday where you can get free CFL lights at the MEC building while supplies last.

One of the major backbones of any county or state fair is the 4-H organization, which has its own building on the Missouri State Fairgrounds to showcase all the county winners for things like art, photography, quilting, baking, cooking and much more.
