During a special seven-minute meeting of the Sedalia Park Board on Thursday, a bid was accepted from Professional Contractors and Engineers.

The City of Sedalia has been approved for a $1.3 million Missouri Department of Economic Development Local Tourism Asset Development Grant.

The American Legion AAA State Championship is being held in Sedalia through Aug. 3. Four teams will compete at Liberty Park Stadium/Dey Field for the chance to move onto the AAA Regional Championship in North Little Rock, Ark. In order to get there, four teams will compete in a double-elimination tournament in Sedalia. The four teams that will compete are, Joplin, Blue Springs A's, Eureka and Jeff

The Sedalia Bombers wrapped up the weekend with two big wins over the Chillicothe Mudcats to pull within two games of first place.  The Nevada Griffons, who currently sit atop the MINK league South Division, have lost their last two games, leaving some room for the Bombers to make a late push for first.
