The City of Sedalia will observe the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, Nov. 22 and Friday, Nov. 23. City trash collection will be slightly altered for the week.
On Monday night, the Sedalia City Council approved a recommendation from the Citizens’ Traffic Advisory Commission to reopen S. Washington Ave. between E. 4th Street and E. 5th Street to 2-way traffic and to install a 4-way stop at the intersection of E. 5th St. and S. Washington Ave.
Each household will be provided with a 95 or 65-gallon gray cart for garbage and one 95 or 65-gallon blue cart for recyclables. To keep garbage and recycling fees as low as
possible, the City is encouraging everyone to recycle.
The City of Sedalia says in a media release the work is scheduled start Monday, August, 20, weather permitting. The area is bounded on the west by S. Massachusetts Ave., on the east by S. Ingram Ave., on the south by the City limits, and on the north by E. 24th Street.
The Sedalia Street Department will be completing roadway maintenance and resurfacing of N. Engineer Ave. from East Saline Street, south to the Union Pacific rail crossing, November 1 - 9.
