The Sedalia Salvation Army has added a weekend day for people to sign up for Christmas baskets. That date is Saturday November 23 from 2:00PM - 5:00PM CST.
With temps dropping to bitterly cold levels, there are several locations around Sedalia offering warming shelter services for residents who may need a place to warm-up.
"The Salvation Army is offering to fully fund kids to go out to their Salvation Army Camp in Bourbon, Missouri," said Magen Hudson with the Sedalia Salvation Army.
At the mention of the phrase "Salvation Army," it's likely you'll immediately imagine a person standing outside a local store with a bell and a bright red bucket. The bell is to get your attention. The bucket is to receive your donation.
We all had a good laugh while debating the color of #thedress, but the Salvation Army has found a way to use the controversy to make an important point.
If you're like me, you're in your mid-thirties, chubby and not that hep to the latest trend. But, if you're also like me, you're a person who loves a little friendly competition - particularly when it's not too arduous. But if it's mentally challenging, then boy howdy, I'm there. The Sedalia Kiwanis wanna challenge you with their Trivia Night coming up on the 23rd.
