St. Patrick's Day

Our Lucky Leprechaun contest is in full swing, with pots of gold being found all over town. However, a mischievous leprechaun stole the prize set out for Thursday morning (March 13). So we sent our listeners out to catch him!

In light of our Lucky Leprechaun contest, I have found found a couple videos that document a real leprechaun sighting and might explain where Leprechauns actually come from.

The St. Patrick's Day party at Dukes & Boots was my final party appearance for KIX 105.7.  There were a lot of people dressed in green and pitchers of green beer flowed.  I made sure to have a large helping of the corned beef and cabbage special too. The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2591 Lady Auxiliary hosted the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Downtown Sedalia on Saturday, Mar. 16. This year's theme was " Lucky 13 - Go For the Gold." There were many kids and families who participated in the cake walk at the VFW Building before the parade, then took their bikes and rode along with about 40 parade entries down Ohio Street...

St. Patrick’s Day isn’t just for people in Ireland and Americans who want to pretend to be Irish for a day. There are celebrations of this saint and his saintly day all around the world.

On Sunday, Mar.17, break out your favorite green shirt and St. Patrick's day apparel. Get ready to drink some green beer and eat some cabbage, because everyone is Irish on St. Patrick's day. The Irish car bomb (a shot of Irish whiskey and Irish cream dropped into a pint of Guinness) is a standard St. Patrick's Day cocktail, though its origins aren't commonly known.

There will be plenty to do in Sedalia for St. Patrick's Day.  Most places are observing the day everyone is Irish on Saturday the 16th.  It all starts with a parade.
