WASHINGTON (AP) — Attorney General Eric Holder says the Justice Department is committed to tracking down the thieves who stole information from millions of customers of Target Corp.
Approximately 40 million credit and debit card accounts used by Target customers may have been impacted by a major data breach, the retailer said Thursday. Customer names along with credit and debit card numbers may have been accessed, as well as the expiration date and three-digit security code on the back of each card, the store said.
Earlier this week, Target announced that, like Best Buy and Toys R Us did recently, it would be joining the price-matching game this holiday season. The company said it plans to match the prices of online retailers as a way to stay competitive during the holiday shopping season.
