Teenager Hurt in Pettis County Wreck
A 16-year old Hughesville resident was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries late Friday night after his vehicle struck a tree in Pettis County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the wreck just before midnight, on Georgetown Road just north of Highway 65.
According to the online crash report, a northbound 2003 Chevy Avalanche crossed the center of the roadway and began to skid. The Chevy then traveled off the road and struck a tree, before coming to rest.
The driver, 16-year old Baron D. Austin, of Hughesville, suffered moderate injuries in the wreck. Austin was taken to Western Missouri Medical Center by PCAD for treatment, according to the report.
The Pettis County Sheriff's Department assisted the Highway Patrol at the scene.
The online crash report indicates the Chevy was totaled in the wreck.
