Terrie Elizabeth Hancock, 51, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Wednesday, August 19th, 2015 at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia. She was born on April 10, 1964 in Shreveport, LA, the daughter of James Roy Helton II and Susan Grizzle Helton, who survive of Mt. Juliet, TN.

On June 13, 1987 in Nashville, TN she was united in marriage to Edwin Lyle Hancock who survives of the home.

Terrie was a 1982 graduate of Dupont High School in Hermitage, TN. She attended college and graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1988. She also completed her Public Health Education Internship at RAF Fairford England, UK in 1988. She was an avid reader. Terrie also loved gardening, youth group mission trips, and playing with her grand dogs. She was known for being the famous "Cheesecake Lady" due to her skill and passion for cooking. She was able to influence many lives as a substitute teacher for many years. Terrie was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority and of the First Baptist Church in Sedalia, MO.

Besides her parents and husband, she is survived by a son, Daniel Scott Hancock (Emilee) of Sedalia; a daughter, Laura Elizabeth Phillips (Derek) of Sedalia; and a sister, Lisa Catherine Hines (Deric) of Mt. Juliet, TN.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, August 24, 2015 at the First Baptist Church, Sedalia, MO, with Pastor Francis O'Donnell and Dr. Glenn Sparks officiating.

Visitation will be at the church from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 23, 2015.

Honorary bearers will be Deric Hines, David Hancock, David Ishihara, Craig Shimetz, Don Elder, Tommy Trail, and George Wolf.

Interment will be held at a later date in Nashville, TN.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Terrie Hancock Memorial Scholarship Fund at First Baptist Church, 200 East 6th Street, Sedalia, MO. 65301.
