Three Hannibal men are arrested in connection with an apparent kidnapping and sexual assault.

HPD officers were called to the Days Inn on Market Street about 2:30 p.m. Monday to check on the well-being of a female.

The woman told officers she had been kidnapped and sexually assaulted.

A man in the room with the woman, 38 year old Demetrice Moffett, was taken into custody without incident.

An investigation led detectives to a residence in the 2100 block of Patchen, where they found a marijuana grow operation, a handgun used in the kidnapping and assault and a stolen rifle.

Also arrested were 25 year old Travis Gerard and 21 year old Kenny Lumpford.

On Tuesday, warrants were issued against Moffitt for rape, kidnapping and armed criminal action and against Gerard for receiving stolen property and manufacturing marijuana.

Moffitt is in the Marion County Jail on $100,000 bond. Bond for Gerard was set at $50,000. Lumpford is in jail on a 24 hour hold pending the formal filing of charges.
