Three people were injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Friday afternoon in Johnson County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a westbound 2019 Hino truck, driven by 19-year-old Nicholas E. Jones of Belton, was on US 50 at 4:25 p.m., when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway, one tenth of a mile east of NW 1201 Road (east of Pittsville), struck a MoDOT sign, hit the ditch and overturned.

Jones and one of his passengers, 24-year-old Austin B. Clancy of Warrenton, both suffered minor injuries, while another passenger, 20-year-old Craig. B. Dillard of Lee's Summit, suffered moderate injuries. All were transported to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg for treatment. All were wearing seat belts.

The truck was totaled and towed by Ron's Tow.
