Two people were injured Wednesday night in Johnson County in a two-vehicle wreck.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a northbound 2012 GMC Terrain driven by 79-year-old Jimmie D. Austin of Kingsville was stopped and preparing to turn off of Missouri 131 and onto NW 200 road, when the GMC was struck from behind at 8:10 p.m. by a northbound 1995 Saturn SC1 driven by 18-year-old Abbigale R. Howe of Holden.

Austin suffered minor injuries and refused medical treatment on the scene, while Howe suffered moderate injuries and was transported by JCAD to Research Medical Center for treatment.

Austin was wearing a safety device, while Howe was not, according to the report.

The GMC had extensive damage, while the Saturn was totaled. Both were towed from the scene.
