The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a two-vehicle accident in Johnson County, early Wednesday morning that sent two men to an area hospital.

The accident occurred around 5:45, Highway 50 at Northwest County Road 121.

A 2006 Mazda and a 2001 Chevrolet were westbound, when the Mazda overtook, and struck the Chevy in the intersection.

The driver of the Mazda, 38-year old Michael S. Jackson, of Warrensburg, suffered moderate injuries in the accident. The driver of the Chevy, 54-year old Michael B. Flores, of Centerview, also suffered moderate injuries.

Both men were taken to Western Missouri Medical Center, by the Johnson County Ambulance District, for treatment.

According to that report, the Mazda was totaled in the accident, while the Chevy sustained moderate damage.
