Two People Injured in Warrensburg Shooting Sunday Morning
Early Sunday morning, a shooting occurred in front of The Warehouse on Pine Street, in Warrensburg.
According to the Warrensburg Police Department's Facebook page, two people received non-life threatening gunshot wounds to their hands.
The victims and witness reported that a fight broke out inside the Warehouse. One of men involved in the fight went to his car, retrieved a handgun, and returned to the front of the Warehouse.
Once there he fired several shots, reportedly into the ground. With the shots fired, around 500 people fled the inside and outside of the business. WPD, Missouri Highway Patrol, UCM DPS, and Johnson County Sheriff Deputies were on scene when the shots were fired, but due the large crowd fleeing the scene, were unable to locate the shooter.
Several fights reportedly broke out in the street and surrounding area. Officers located one shooting victim in the alley just north of Pine St. He was transported by JCAD, to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment. The second victim was transported by private vehicle to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment.
Officers recovered several shell casings from the front of the Warehouse and found the glass in one of the front doors was broken.
