Two Sedalia Teens Injured in Morning Commute

Two 17-year-old Sedalia residents were injured Monday morning in a one-vehicle wreck in Pettis County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the wreck at 7:40, on Sacajawea Road east of Tiger Pride Blvd.

According to the online crash report, a 2003 Audi struck a tree after attempting to avoid an animal in the roadway.

The driver, Rogelio V. Piedra, and a passenger, Mildred B. Mejia-Diaz, both suffered minor injuries in the wreck. Both were taken to Bothwell Regional Center for treatment.

The report indicates both were wearing safety devices. The Audi was totaled. Pettis County Sheriff's deputies assisted the MSHP.
