Two people were injured Wednesday night in a one-vehicle wreck that occurred in Benton County.

According to the MSHP, a northbound 2006 Chevy driven by 23-year-old Chance R. Ahrens of Stover, traveled off the roadway on Route W at Boeschenville Avenue at 8 p.m. and struck a guardrail. The vehicle then vaulted and overturned into a creek.

Ahrens suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene. His passenger, 20-year-old Shelby D. Folsom of Stover, suffered serious injuries and was transported to University of Missouri by ambulance. Both were wearing a safety device at the time of the crash.

The vehicle was totaled and towed.

Benton County deputies assisted the Patrol at the scene.
