A two-vehicle accident in Johnson County Thursday evening, resulted in injuries for three people.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the accident around 8:15, on Highway 50 at NW 271st Road.

A 2002 Jeep was slowing down to turn south on NW 271 from US-50. A 2002 Chevrolet then struck the rear of the Jeep.

After the impact, the Jeep traveled into the median and overturned.

The driver of the Jeep, Carolyn F. Bowlin, suffered minor injuries, as well as a passenger, 77-year old Leon M. Bowlin, both of Centerview. They were taken to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment.

The driver of the Chevy, 23-year-old Viswadeep Lebakula, of Kansas City, also suffered minor injuries, but he refused medical treatment.

According to the report, both vehicles were totaled in the accident.
