Two men escaped serious injury after a two-vehicle accident occurred on East 50 in Pettis County Monday afternoon.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 33-year-old Ryan P. Miesner of Florence was eastbound on 50 in a 1994 Chevy Silverado at 5:15 p.m. when he made a gradual left turn onto Air Park Road (between Jacee's Express and Dollar General) and traveled into the path of a westbound 2009 Ford Fusion driven by 55-year-old Raymond D. Kahrs of Sedalia.

The impact caused the Fusion to travel off the right side of the road, striking a post and utility pole.

The Silverado had moderate damage, while the Fusion had extensive damage and was towed from the scene.

Both drivers had minor injuries and refused medical treatment at the scene. Both were wearing a safety device.
