The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested 44-year-old Matthew W. Laymon of Warrensburg at 3:25 a.m. Saturday in Johnson County.

He now faces charges of resisting arrest by fleeing, creating substantial risk of serious injury or death, tampering with a motor vehicle prior offender, felony resisting arrest, failure to drive on the right half of the roadway, driving the wrong direction on a highway, speeding by 26 miles an hour or more over the speed limit, failure to yield to emergency vehicles and failure to signal.

Laymon was taken to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department and booked in at 5 a.m. Sept. 27 on a 24-hour hold.

His bond was set at $10,000.
